In Squarespace's ecosystem
Squarespace was started in 2003 by Anthony Casalena as a simple self-hosted website builder. It was a side project and has grown into a full fledged platform for building websites, e-commerce stores and managing digital content. Squarespace offers templates, a visual drag and drop editor and integrated features for blogging, scheduling and online sales for individuals, small businesses and creatives.
The company has expanded beyond just website building and added features like email marketing, membership areas and domain purchasing to be a full suite of digital tools. This integrated approach is to make setting up online presence easy for non technical users.
Squarespace went public in May 2021 as a direct listing on the NYSE as SQSP.
Squarespace has a curated list of third-party tools in their Squarespace Extensions directory which is an integrations page to extend the capabilities of your Squarespace site. The Squarespace Extensions feature allows you to add external services to the core functionality of your site. These extensions cover marketing, shipping, finance and e-commerce so you can manage your business needs from within your Squarespace environment.
The integrations include popular tools like QuickBooks for accounting, ShipBob for order fulfillment and Printful for on-demand product printing. By connecting these third-party services you can streamline your workflow and add functionality to your site without having to switch between multiple systems.
